Onewith Shark Tank Update: Did They Survive the Tank?

While packing for a trip to Miami, Hayley Segar ran into a problem she'd had for years: she couldn't find a swimsuit that didn't pinch or dig into her skin. Even the expensive options had tight elastics and bulky seams that ruined the fit she wanted. She decided to build the swimsuit herself.

By Season 16 of Shark Tank, she was standing in front of five investors pitching a swimwear company already doing over a million dollars a year. Here's what happened in the Tank, and where Onewith stands.

What is Onewith?

Onewith is a direct-to-consumer swimwear brand built around patented, edgeless suits designed to feel like seamless, no-show underwear. Traditional swimsuits rely on thick elastic bands sewn into the edges, which is what causes the "muffin top" effect and chafing.

Onewith removed the elastic entirely. The suits use a two-layer fabric made of 80% nylon and 20% elastane, with raw-cut edges that sit flat against the skin and an inner grip strip that holds the suit in place even when wet. The result is a smooth, second-skin fit. Onewith also sizes from XXS up to 4XL.

Who is the Founder of Onewith?

Hayley Segar (now Hayley Cannon) grew up in New London, Connecticut, and started earning money online at 12, running a beauty YouTube channel with tutorials and reviews. That early channel built a large following and gave her savings to work with later.

She graduated from the University of Connecticut in 2017 with a degree in English, and when the idea for Onewith came to her, she went back to her alma mater for help.

In 2020, she was accepted into UConn's Connecticut Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation summer fellowship, which gave her $15,000 in non-dilutive funding to get a prototype built.

She also used the university's law clinic to file her patents. She launched Onewith in late 2021 using $130,000 from her YouTube savings, running the business alone with her mother helping pack and ship orders.

Onewith Shark Tank Journey & Pitch

Hayley appeared on Season 16, Episode 9, which aired in late January 2025, asking for $200,000 for 5% of the company, a $4 million valuation.

She opened by having her models walk out in the swimsuits. At first the sharks assumed they were wearing regular underwear, until Hayley explained the garments were fully water-ready.

When Kevin O'Leary asked about revenue, Hayley told them she'd done $2.3 million in lifetime sales since launching in late 2021, with $1.3 million of that in the current year alone.

The margins got the sharks' attention. A bikini top costs $12 to make and sells for $49. A one-piece costs $23 and retails for $89, 75% margins, with a customer acquisition cost of just $15. Lori Greiner was especially struck by the 11% return rate, well below the swimwear industry's typical 15% to 30%.

Kevin O'Leary and Mark Cuban both said they weren't the right strategic fit for a women's swimwear brand and dropped out. Lori Greiner passed too. That left Barbara Corcoran and guest shark Jamie Kern Lima.

Barbara liked the product but warned Hayley against traditional retail, citing a rough experience she'd had with a previous swimwear brand, Raising Wild. She offered $200,000 for 20% equity, contingent on Onewith staying direct-to-consumer.

Jamie offered the identical deal, and the two teamed up, splitting the 20% ten points each. Hayley tried to negotiate the equity down to 12%, then accepted the original terms.

What Happened to Onewith After Shark Tank?

Onewith Swimwear Growth Following Shark Tank

The TV appearance gave Onewith a real jump in visibility. The body-positive, second-skin positioning connected with viewers, and Instagram and TikTok followings grew quickly as influencers picked up the suits for their own content. Reality star Mari Pepin, from Bachelor in Paradise, was spotted wearing the brand.

True to the deal, Hayley kept the business strictly direct-to-consumer. Rather than chase shelf space in department stores, she put the money into digital marketing and used her own content-creator background to build an online audience.

Is Onewith Still in Business?

Yes. As of today, Onewith is active and doing well. The company is now a WBENC-Certified Women's Business Enterprise, and it secured US Patent No. 12,537,039 for the edgeless swimwear construction, which gives it real legal protection against copycats.

In 2026, the brand expanded beyond swimwear with the "Cozy Clip x onewith Flexible Claw Clip," a hair accessory line for its beachwear shop.

On a personal note, Hayley Segar got married and is now Hayley Cannon. In May 2026, she eloped in New York City wearing a custom wedding dress made from Onewith's own swimsuit fabric, a move that landed her coverage in Fame Magazine and Fashion Mannuscript heading into the summer season.

What is the Valuation & Net Worth of Onewith?

Hayley pitched Onewith at a $4 million valuation in early 2025. Taking Barbara and Jamie's $200,000 for 20% technically implied a $1 million valuation, a common tradeoff on Shark Tank, since founders often give up valuation for the marketing reach a shark brings.

Given the 75% margins, the low return rate, and the sales bump after the episode aired, the business is in solid shape. Based on current trajectory and the new product line, a reasonable 2026 valuation estimate lands between $3 million and $5 million.

Hayley, who kept 80% ownership, likely has a net worth somewhere between $1.5 million and $2.5 million.

Where to Buy Onewith?

Because of the no-retail condition in the deal, you won't find Onewith at Target, Macy's, or any other department store. The only place to buy it is directly through onewithswim.com.

Buying there also gets you their Fit Size Guide quiz to help pin down your size, plus their return policy: one free exchange on eligible US orders.

Are Onewith Swimsuits Reviews Actually Good?

Reviews across social media and fashion blogs skew positive. Customers say the raw-cut edges genuinely solve the muffin-top pinching that ruins other swimsuits.

Some Reddit and forum reviews mention a learning curve, though: because the fabric is built to feel like no-show underwear, it can feel unusually light to women used to heavily lined, compressive suits.

A few reviewers also note the suits are better for lounging and casual swimming than for surfing or more aggressive water sports. On comfort and fit, the brand holds up well.
